Do you have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
Or perhaps you bring valuable transferable skills from roles such as care or support work, the emergency services, armed forces, residential care, or sports coaching?
Our partner schools in the Bedford area are currently seeking Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join their dedicated SEN support teams. These schools require additional staff to assist students either on a 1:1 basis or in small group settings.
Experience in a school environment is not essential - what matters most is your passion, dedication, and commitment to supporting children with additional needs!
Sociable hours - no weekends!
Typical hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (may vary slightly by 45 minutes)
Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both individually and in groups
Assist in delivering classroom activities and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Work closely with teachers and support staff to aid in student development
Serve as a positive, motivating presence for students
Opportunity for temp-to-perm - long-term, stable employment
Experience working with children with SEN is beneficial but not required
Transferable experience from care-related or people-focused roles is highly valued
A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
A genuine passion for working with children - essential
