Teaching Personnel work in partnership with a mixed secondary school located in Hove, graded ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted. The SEND department within the school are looking to appoint several highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants, to join their department on a full-time basis. The school will be employing on a temporary to permanent basis, with opportunities to become permanent for the right candidates.
The school has 11 students who require 1-1 care, with special educational needs such as Downs syndrome, visual and hearing impairments, physical disabilities and SEMH. The SEN team is a cohesive department managed by four Teachers who specialise in the four categories of SEND, all of whom report to the SENCO. The school are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds and although SEN experience would be advantageous, it is not essential as the key to this role is a willing attitude.
The school will consider applications from more experienced candidates with expertise in special educational needs, as well as candidates who may have little to no experience, but have an interest in working with pupils who have special educational needs. For applicants who have little to no experience, it is important that you are empathetic and conscientious with a can-do attitude. The salary is reflective of candidate experience.
