Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable University Students to work as Teaching Assistants across schools in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.
Whether you are studying Education, Psychology, English, Maths, Science, Sport, Social Sciences or another subject, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience working with children and young people while earning money around your university timetable.
You don't need previous experience as a Teaching Assistant. What matters most is that you are reliable, enthusiastic, confident and passionate about supporting young people.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you could be supporting pupils across mainstream primary, secondary and SEND settings.
Your responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting pupils with their learning on a 1:1 or small-group basis
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
  • Encouraging pupils to participate and remain engaged with their learning
  • Supporting students who require additional guidance
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
  • Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines
  • Working with students with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Helping teachers with the day-to-day running of the classroom

  • Have previous experience with children, coaching, mentoring, tutoring or youth work - desirable but not essential
