Salary: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)

A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Bolton is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting students with additional needs to reach their full potential in a mainstream classroom setting.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Support students’ emotional, social, and behavioural development
  • Adapt learning materials and classroom activities to meet individual needs
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to teaching staff and SENCo
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based experience desirable)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people in education
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential
  • A welcoming and supportive staff team
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities
  • A well-resourced SEN department and strong leadership support
  • A positive working environment focused on staff wellbeing
