A range of Durham secondary schools - across both mainstream and SEND settings - are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants ahead of September 2026. These are long-term placements suited to TAs who want consistency, the chance to build real relationships with students, and a role they can grow into over time.

Working across KS3 and KS4, you'll be part of established school teams that value strong, reliable support staff. Whether the setting is mainstream or specialist, the focus is on meaningful, sustained support for students who benefit most from familiar faces and consistent routines.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in a stable, long-term capacity
• Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
• Supporting students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
• Assisting with classroom management and differentiation
• Building consistent, trusted relationships with students who need ongoing support
• Contributing to inclusive learning environments

You'll need:

• Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting
• A solid understanding of SEND and supporting diverse learners
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• Level 3 qualification desirable but not essential with the right experience
