1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 7 Transition Support – Clitheroe

Are you passionate about supporting young people as they start their secondary school journey? We are working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Clitheroe who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 7 pupil transitioning into school this September.

Location:

Clitheroe, Lancashire (BB7)

Contract:

Full-time, term-time only (starting September)

The Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored 1:1 support to a student joining Year 7, helping them settle into secondary school life.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the pupil during lessons and transitions throughout the school day
  • Helping to build confidence, routine, and independence
  • Assisting with emotional regulation and social interaction
  • Acting as a consistent, supportive presence during the transition from primary to secondary
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff

We would love to hear from candidates who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people (school-based or care background)
  • Have a calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Are confident supporting children with additional needs (e.g. ASD, anxiety, SEMH)
  • Are reliable, resilient, and committed to making a difference
