Teaching Assistant required in Clitheroe.

  • Monday 15th April 2024 start date.
  • Friday 19th July 2024 end date.
  • Full-time: Monday-Friday, 8.15am – 3.05pm

A Secondary school in Clitheroe are seeking to appoint a general classroom Teaching Assistant, who would also be able to support the pupils on a 1:1 basis in the classroom. The successful applicant will support the class teacher in planning and presenting lessons, and assist in helping students learn.

What will your role consist of?

  • Helping the class teacher
  • Assisting with creating lesson plans and activities
  • Working with small groups of students to enhance the learning process
  • Ensuring classrooms are safe and tidy
  • Setting up necessary materials for classes
  • Escorting and supervising students in school activities and trips
  • Supporting the class teacher with behaviour and classroom management

Requirements and skills:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant
  • Great communication and organisational skills
  • Cool-tempered and positive attitude
  • Firm but fair approach
  • A love for education
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with students, teachers and parents/carers
