An alternative education provision in Manchester is looking for full-time Teaching Assistants to work with young people working towards a variety of qualifications, both classroom based and vocational. As a teaching assistant, you will work with students throughout the day on different activities, whether this is Maths and English or Sports and Fitness.

The young people you will work with have a variety of social, emotional, and mental health needs that mean they are not currently within a school environment, so will need someone who is patient and caring to support them through their time at the provision.

You will provide support both in groups and in a one-to-one setting and should be flexible in the way you work to suit individual needs.

You should also be comfortable and able to deal with difficult situations and challenging behaviour in an experienced and controlled way.

For this role you should:

  • Have previous school experience
  • Be comfortable guiding and leading young people in physical activities
  • Have previous knowledge and experience of different additional needs and challenges that may come with these
  • Be available full-time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
