Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant who is available either on a full-time or part-time basis to work in Secondary Schools across the South Manchester area. Teaching Personnel are the leading educational recruitment agency in England and Wales and have an extensive reach across Greater Manchester, meaning we are regularly able to offer a variety of roles including short-term and long-term positions.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be working with students in KS3/4/5 in either small group or one to one setting, predominantly helping them with their literacy and numeracy amongst other subject areas. A lot of the students you will be helping will require support in catching up to their peers after missing a lot of school time due to Covid-19. Therefore you will be providing an invaluable service by performing a very rewarding role whereby you will see a real development under your supervision.

  • Pay: £66 - £77 per day depending on experience
  • School across Trafford (Stretford/Sale/Altrincham), South Manchester (Wythenshawe/Levenshulme/Whalley Range/Chorlton/Burnage) and Stockport.
  • Full-time and Part-time TA roles available for varying lengths of time
  • Register now for September start

If you are an outgoing person who is comfortable in a classroom setting and has prior experience of working with young people then we would like to hear from you. You will need to have (or be willing to apply for) an Enhance Child Only DBS certificate that is then registered on the Update Service.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. Please see for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
