Are you a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Speech & Language Therapist looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a committed Speech & Language Therapist to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll play a key role in supporting students' communication, language development, and wellbeing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping children and young people develop their communication skills and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and identify students' speech, language, communication, and interaction needs.
- Plan and deliver appropriate therapy and intervention programmes tailored to individual students' needs.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them develop their speech, language, communication, and social interaction skills.
- Work with students across a range of abilities and needs, adapting therapy and support to meet individual requirements where appropriate.
- Support students with speech, language, and communication difficulties, including receptive and expressive language, speech sounds, social communication, and interaction needs.
- Encourage students to develop their confidence, independence, communication skills, and ability to engage positively with others.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, teaching assistants, parents, and other professionals to support students' progress and wellbeing.
- Provide advice, guidance, and practical strategies to school staff to help support students' communication needs within the classrooms.
Requirements
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
- The ability to assess individual needs and deliver appropriate therapy and intervention programmes.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
- A patient, flexible, and child-centred approach to supporting individual needs.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and other professionals.
- A commitment to inclusion and supporting children and young people to reach their full potential.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
