The Role – Site Manager
We are seeking a reliable, proactive and hands-on Site Manager to join a welcoming primary school in Croydon, South London, from ASAP.
As the Site Manager, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the premises are safe, secure, clean and well-maintained on a daily basis. You will play a key role in ensuring the school is ready for pupils and staff each morning and securely locked and safe at the end of the school day.
This is a split-shift position, with working hours of:
Morning: 6:30am – 11:30am
Afternoon: 3:10pm – 6:10pm
The successful candidate will need to be local to Croydon and able to commit to both parts of the split shift.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Opening the premises each morning and ensuring the site is ready for the school day
Locking up the premises at the end of the day and ensuring the site is fully secure
Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running and upkeep of the premises
Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and minor works where appropriate
Maintaining the grounds and ensuring the site is kept clean, tidy and presentable
Cleaning and maintaining the swimming pool
Monitoring the security of the buildings, grounds and equipment
Reporting and coordinating any larger repairs or maintenance issues
Liaising with contractors and external service providers when required
Carrying out regular health and safety checks
Supporting the school with compliance and ensuring the premises remain safe for pupils, staff and visitors
Responding promptly to any site-related issues or emergencies
The ideal candidate will be dependable, practical and highly organised, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of the premises. Previous experience in a school, facilities, caretaking or site management environment would be highly desirable.
