Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the lives of children and young people?
We are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school, supporting primary and secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), learning difficulties, and speech and language needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in education, SEN or support work.
You don't need to have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant. We welcome applications from people with backgrounds in care, healthcare, childcare, youth work, support work, coaching, education or other people-focused roles.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils feel confident, supported and engaged in their learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
Helping pupils access the curriculum and classroom activities
Supporting individual learning and communication needs
Encouraging confidence, independence and social development
Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Creating a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment
Working as part of a dedicated and collaborative SEN team
We are looking for someone who is:
Patient, caring and empathetic
Reliable, positive and adaptable
A good communicator and team player
Passionate about supporting children and young people
Keen to learn and develop within SEN education
Previous SEN or school experience is desirable but not essential. Transferable experience from care, support work, youth work, childcare, healthcare, coaching or similar roles is highly valued.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
