Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new challenge?

Do you have experience supporting children and young people with Autism (ASC), PMLD and emotional dysregulation? Are you passionate about helping students with complex needs achieve their full potential?

Supply Desk is currently supporting a highly regarded specialist educational setting in Portsmouth that caters for students with profound, severe and complex learning difficulties, many of whom have additional needs including Autism, physical disabilities and complex communication needs. The school is known for its personalised approach, nurturing environment and commitment to helping every student develop independence and life skills.

This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Working with pupils with Autism, PMLD and emotional regulation needs
• Assisting students with communication, engagement and independence skills
• Supporting personal care where required
• Implementing behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff
• Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting students' social, emotional and academic development

Essential Requirements

• Experience working with pupils with Autism (ASC), PMLD and dysregulation
• Previous UK school-based or specialist setting experience
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence supporting students with complex additional needs
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
