Sen Teaching Assistant New

We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistants to work in welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Oldham. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, making this an excellent opportunity for experienced support staff as well as individuals looking to begin a rewarding career in education.

As an SEN Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students with a range of additional needs access learning, build confidence and reach their individual goals. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to provide tailored support both inside and outside the classroom.

The successful candidate will support students with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, learning difficulties and communication challenges. You will help create a positive learning environment, support behaviour management strategies and encourage engagement, independence and personal development.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Worker, Youth Worker, Care Worker or Support Worker. We also welcome applications from graduates and individuals with transferable skills who are passionate about working with young people. Previous experience working with SEN learners is desirable but not essential.

To be considered for this position, you should have excellent communication skills, a patient and resilient approach, and a genuine commitment to supporting children and young people with additional needs.
