Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Wilmslow.

Position Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with SEN, enabling them to thrive academically and personally. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, assisting them with classwork, assignments, and educational activities.
  2. Collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with SEN, ensuring their specific needs are met.
  3. Assisting students with SEN in accessing learning materials, adapting teaching methods as necessary to accommodate different learning styles.
  4. Supporting students' social and emotional development, providing guidance and encouragement to foster confidence and self-esteem.
  5. Monitoring student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers to support ongoing improvement.
  6. Contributing to the overall inclusive and supportive ethos of the school, participating in school events and initiatives as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a school setting or similar environment.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with young people with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute positively to the school community.
