SEMH/ ASC Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel in partnership with a specialist provision in Chorley (PR7) are wanting to hire a learning support assistant- the need for the role is due to high demand for additional support in their provision.

The role

You will be required on a full-time basis with the view to start as soon as possible. If you are available full time on a long-term basis, then we may have a role for you!

The role is available due to gaps in staffing and the school requiring additional support within the existing classes. Within the role you will be expected to work to support pupils with ASC/ and or SEMH needs and provide great quality interventions be it 1:1 or in a small group, and general classroom support. As the school focuses on pupils’ individual needs candidates will need to be able to differentiate their approach to optimise learning for each specific child. Dependant on the successful applicant’s availability there would be a view to secure a school contract after initially starting on a temporary basis.

The school will shortlist candidates after completing a virtual informal interview with a member of SLT, and a week’s trial at the school if successful! If you are interested in these roles, please do get in touch with Emily!

  • Full-time Monday to Friday (8:30am-3:30pm)
  • Competitive hourly rate of pay (£10.77p/h)
  • School experience is desirable
  • No school related qualifications are required but can be desirable
  • Start date: ASAP

The provision

This is a specialist provision based in Chorley who caters for pupils with SEMH, and ASC aged 4-11- the pupils in this provision can display challenging behaviours and do require additional support in both their educational and holistic development. The provision provides its pupils with intervention sessions that support the whole pupil not just their education which ensures its pupils are provided with essential life skills and the promotion of their overall wellbeing.

The members of the senior leadership team are awaiting applications for this role- if you are interested in applying, please send a copy of your CV to Emily!
