Learning Support Assistant – Mental Health Support Assistant


Location: Westminster

Vacancy: Full-time

Pay: £75-95 per day

Teaching Personnel are looking for proactive mental health support assistants for a friendly ‘outstanding’ school at the heart of Westminster. This school is located to great transport links and prides itself for it’s inclusive nature. The school specialise in supporting children with Autism (ASD) and SEMH (Social and emotional needs) between the ages of 4 – 19. The school has various facilities to support children i.e., sensory, play and relaxation rooms to support children throughout the day. As a mental health assistant, you will be required to support the children 1:1 or in groups.


The ideal mental health support candidate:

  • Have experience working with vulnerable people i.e., social care, health care assisting that can be used to support children with special educational needs
  • Background in psychology
  • Have strong behaviour management strategies
  • Be flexible and adaptable with a positive personality

  • Have a Child Workforce DBS Certificate on the Update Service (we can help with this)
  • Provide 2 proofs of address
  • Provide contact details for 2 recent employers
  • Have a UK passport/right to work in the UK
  • Be willing to apply for a child only DBS if you do not currently possess one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
