Teaching Personnel are working closely with an OFSTED 'Good' specialist school in Dudley dedicated to providing high-quality education and care for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and complex medical needs. The school offers a supportive, inclusive environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive. We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join the team of Teaching Assistants, on a full time basis, Monday to Friday (8:30am to 3:30pm)

Job Description:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students. This position is ideal for experienced support workers or care workers looking to transition into a school setting. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs.
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN and complex medical needs.
  • Supporting students with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene.
  • Monitoring and responding to the medical needs of students in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of all students.
  • Helping to implement behavior management strategies as needed.
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a support worker or care worker role, ideally within an SEN or healthcare setting.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special needs.
  • Willingness to provide personal care to students as required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Minimum Maths and English GCSE
  • A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a related field.
  • Experience working in an educational setting.
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding principles.
