Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
We are seeking a committed and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Blandford Forum, working with students aged 5 to 16 who require tailored support in their learning journey.
This is a full-time, term-time only role starting in September 2025.
Working across a small, supportive setting, you will help deliver bespoke support to children and young people with a range of behavioural, emotional, and learning needs.
The provision supports pupils who have experienced barriers to mainstream education and focuses on re-engagement, resilience, and wellbeing.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 or small group support for students with SEN and SEMH profiles
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Assisting teachers with the delivery of individualised learning programmes
Promoting pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
Encouraging social development and emotional wellbeing through structured support
