Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
A highly rewarding opportunity awaits for a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing secondary setting in Yeovil, supporting pupils aged 11 to 14 who require personalised and therapeutic approaches to education.
This is a full-time, term-time role starting in September 2025.
You'll be part of a dedicated team that puts student wellbeing and positive relationships at the heart of learning. The school provides specialist education for pupils with complex behavioural and emotional needs, often linked with additional diagnoses such as autism and ADHD.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH and additional learning needs
Helping manage emotional regulation and de-escalate challenging behaviour
Assisting teachers in delivering tailored, trauma-informed lessons
Supporting students in developing resilience, independence, and social skills
Promoting inclusion and encouraging consistent engagement with learning
