Are you passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their full potential?

We are seeking dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in Templecombe, supporting pupils aged 6 to 13 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a flexible role, with both full-time and part-time positions available, starting in September 2025. Early start options are available for the right candidate.

This specialist school provides a therapeutic, structured environment designed to support children with complex emotional and behavioural needs. You'll be part of a nurturing team that:

  • Fosters emotional resilience and trust in young learners

  • Encourages positive behaviour and personal growth through consistent routines

  • Offers tailored education in small class settings with high staff-to-pupil ratios

  • Promotes teamwork, creativity, and a whole-child approach to learning

  • Support students in class and during activities, both academically and emotionally

  • Assist in implementing behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans

  • Encourage communication, independence, and social interaction

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff

  • Empathetic, calm, and consistent with a passion for SEN and SEMH support

  • Experience in education, care, or youth work is beneficial but not essential

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key

  • Weekly pay via PAYE
