Are you passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their full potential?
We are seeking dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in Templecombe, supporting pupils aged 6 to 13 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is a flexible role, with both full-time and part-time positions available, starting in September 2025. Early start options are available for the right candidate.
This specialist school provides a therapeutic, structured environment designed to support children with complex emotional and behavioural needs. You'll be part of a nurturing team that:
Fosters emotional resilience and trust in young learners
Encourages positive behaviour and personal growth through consistent routines
Offers tailored education in small class settings with high staff-to-pupil ratios
Promotes teamwork, creativity, and a whole-child approach to learning
Support students in class and during activities, both academically and emotionally
Assist in implementing behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans
Encourage communication, independence, and social interaction
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
Empathetic, calm, and consistent with a passion for SEN and SEMH support
Experience in education, care, or youth work is beneficial but not essential
A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key
Weekly pay via PAYE
