SEMH Teaching Assistant – Secondary School – Cheadle – September 2025 Start – £89.38 to £100 per day

A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Cheadle, Stockport is looking to appoint a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant from September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, anxiety, or trauma-related challenges.

  • Provide consistent, compassionate one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

  • Help students manage their behaviour and emotions within the classroom setting

  • Implement support strategies, mentoring, and pastoral care plans in collaboration with the school’s SEND and pastoral teams

  • Encourage engagement with learning through trust-building and positive relationships

  • Act as a role model for behaviour, communication and resilience

  • Location: Cheadle, Stockport

  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Contract: Full academic year (potential for permanent placement)

  • Pay: £89.38 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 3:15pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
