SEMH Teaching Assistant - Egham | Immediate Start

An amazing opportunity has come up for a passionate and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Egham on a full-time basis, starting immediately.

This lovely small specialist SEMH provision supports around 15-20 students, creating a warm, close-knit and highly supportive environment.

With just two classrooms, the school is able to offer truly personalised support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)

Full-time | Monday to Friday
8:00am - 4:00pm
️ Plus 1 day per week until 5:00pm for planning & meetings

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Supporting students academically and emotionally
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviours
  • Encouraging confidence, engagement, and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff
  • Helping create a calm, consistent and supportive learning environment

  • Previous SEMH or SEN experience (essential)
  • Experience supporting autism, ADHD, PDA or behavioural needs (highly desirable)
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A calm, resilient and caring approach
  • Someone who can build trust while maintaining clear boundaries
