Location: Specialist SEMH School
Age Range: 8-16 years
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school. This is a rewarding role supporting pupils aged 8-16 who require consistent, nurturing, and firm behaviour support to access education and reach their potential.
Support pupils in the classroom and in small group or 1:1 settings
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
Provide strong, consistent behaviour management in line with school policies
Support pupils with emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviour strategies
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Contribute to a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
Strong behaviour management skills and confidence handling challenging behaviour
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Competitive hourly rate (£13.75 - £14.50 p/h)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
