A highly respected specialist provision in Yeovil is seeking a caring and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team immediately on a full-time permanent basis.

The school supports pupils aged 4 to 18 with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, autism and communication needs.

Staff pride themselves on creating a calm, nurturing and engaging environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential.

Working hours are 8.40am to 4.30pm with some varied finishing times linked to training and school activities.

You will work closely alongside teachers and therapists to provide both classroom and individual support.

The role involves assisting pupils with learning activities, communication, social development and personal care where required.

This position would suit someone patient, resilient and enthusiastic about supporting children with additional needs.

• Minimum 6 months childcare experience, ideally supporting children with SEN
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Calm and positive approach
• GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths preferred
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 desirable
• Willingness to undertake specialist training
• Passion for helping young people succeed

• Support pupils during classroom activities and interventions

• Assist with sensory and communication-based learning
• Help maintain a safe and stimulating environment
• Support educational visits and enrichment sessions
