Teaching Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about Early Years education and Additional Learning Needs (ALN). In this role, you'll utilize communication-friendly strategies, such as visual cues, to assist children in all aspects of their schooling, including toileting support. You'll also play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment during mealtimes and playtimes. Expectations include supporting a small group of 3-4 children and maintaining classroom provisions for all, indoors and outdoors.
General Teaching Assistant experience is valuable, along with specific expertise in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

This school is based in Newport and is easily accessible via public transport. They have around 600 pupils. They have 1 dedicated class base to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs. There are around 10 children within this nurture room, of a variety of ages. The school aims to be the ‘centre of equity and excellence for learning and wellbeing’. This school identifies as having 22% of pupils with additional learning needed, the schools learning resource base opening in September 2016 to support those pupils with behaviour and learning disabilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
