Graduate teaching assistant Manchester -

Have you recently finished your university degree and looking to start your teaching career?

If you feel that you have the necessary transferable skills, Teaching Personnel may have some opportunities to suit you.

We are currently working alongside a number of different schools within the Manchester area, who are looking for some postgraduate Teaching assistants to join their current team of excellent staff.

It would be ideal for the schools if the candidate had some experience working within a secondary school setting, however it's not completely essential as any postgraduate could have the transferable skills to become a valuable teaching assistant.

The ideal candidate that the schools are looking for will have the following:

  • University degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong communication skills, along with a natural ability to build a rapport with the students.
  • Any transferable behaviour management skills.
  • Positive and patient attitude towards students learning.

The role in hand will consist of working on a one to one or small group basis, with a number of underachieving students, who could certainly benefit from additional support within the classroom setting. As a teaching assistant, your responsibilities will be to guide and help the pupils within key stage 3 and key stage 4 classrooms, to ensure that they are able to reach their targeted levels.

Some of the students may also have SEN or SEMH requirements within the classroom, meaning that any experience with children who fall under these categories, could prove to be a valuable asset within the classroom, whether it's experience from your own home life or in a working environment.

Along with gaining valuable teaching experience, whether it's required for the next step in your PGCE, or you just wanting to develop your overall teaching attributes, teaching personnel will also be able to offer:

  • Free CPD and safeguarding courses.
  • £350 - £450 per week, depending on experience.
  • Easy to use online portal, to show your availability throughout the week, allowing for flexible working days to suit your lifestyle and preferences.
  • Training and further teaching career opportunities.

Whether you're currently studying for your PGCE, or have just finished your university degree and are looking to utilise the skills that you've learned over the years, please attach your CV below and then one of our team of consultants will be in touch regarding the next steps.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
