Graduate Teaching Assistant - Secondary School – Northumberland
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a university graduates across a number of subjects to join one of our client secondary schools in Northumberland as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. This position will start after October half-term and is a full-time role.
The pay for this position is between £385 and £450 per week, dependent on experience.
This position is highly important and will come will a lot of responsibility. The successful candidate will be working to support students who have additional educational requirements. You must be fully aware of Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and the impact that this can have on a child’s behaviour. These behavioural traits include anti-social behaviour, anxiety, and a withdrawn attitude. You will be working with small groups of students or 1-to-1 to support them with their additional learning requirements and promote a learning experience which provides equal opportunities to all.
The highlight of this position is that for a new graduate, looking to start a career in teaching/education, you will have a strong support network with support from both Teaching Personnel as well as the placement school for your ongoing development. For the right candidate, there is the potential to go onto further teacher training, leading to a permanent position when you are fully qualified. This position will also be highly rewarding in seeing the impact you can have on a student's learning and to see tangible results of your hard work.
