EYFS Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: £85 – £100 per day
About the Role
Supply Desk is looking for a warm, enthusiastic and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Portsmouth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and wants to help create a positive foundation for their early education. You’ll support children through their learning and development, helping them build confidence, independence and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children across the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Assist with learning activities, play-based learning and classroom routines.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
- Encourage children's communication, confidence and independence.
- Support children's social and emotional development.
- Help create a safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment.
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
- Support children's development and contribute to observations and progress tracking.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working with children, particularly within EYFS, is desirable.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification would be advantageous.
- Warm, patient and nurturing approach.
- Good understanding of children's early development.
- Creative and enthusiastic attitude towards learning through play.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, proactive and adaptable.
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
