EAL Teaching Assistant

Location: Newport.

Pay Rate: from £83 per day.

Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm.

Start Date: 20th May 2024.

Teaching Personnel is looking for an EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students learning English as a second language and will provide support to ensure their academic success. The role will involve working with students between the ages of 11-16.

We encourage you to apply if you have a background working within care sector, an avid sportsperson or previously worked with children. Training will be provided as you learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support EAL students in improving their English language proficiency.
  • Provide individualized assistance based on students' specific needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate language support into the curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in language acquisition.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for EAL students.

Experience

  • Bilingual, with the ability to speak Romanian being a plus.
  • Previous experience working with EAL students is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of EAL learners.

Requirements

  • Enhanced Childs DBS and Update Service
  • EWC Registration
  • Able to provide 2 references.
  • Level 2 Safeguarding (provided by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
