Teaching Personnel is working with a specialist secondary and post-16 setting in Blackley to recruit a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant for the new academic year.

The school supports pupils with a range of learning disabilities and associated needs, providing tailored support to help every learner engage, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals.

The school caters for pupils across KS3, KS4 and Post-16, with all students holding an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Staff work closely together to create a nurturing and structured environment where pupils feel supported, challenged, and valued.

Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff, you will play an important part in helping pupils access learning and navigate their school day successfully.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons.
  • Promoting independence, communication, and social development.
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils during transitions, break times, and enrichment activities.
  • Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of different learners.

No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and can respond confidently to changing situations.
