Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Sherborne from September.

This setting supports pupils who have been permanently excluded, are at risk of permanent exclusion, or require additional emotional, behavioural and educational support. Many students have SEND needs, EHCPs, medical needs, and benefit from consistent, positive relationships with trusted adults.

We are looking for caring, resilient and adaptable Teaching Assistants for both full-time and part-time positions.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom
  • Building positive relationships and encouraging engagement
  • Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Assisting with behaviour regulation and emotional support
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff

Ideal candidates will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people
  • Be calm, patient and confident managing challenging behaviour
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • Be flexible, reliable and proactive

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
