Pay Rate: from £100 - £120 per day.

Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Behaviour Mentor to work with pupils in a secondary school in Newport. The pupils ages are between 11-18.

The school has a great reputation following a transition period they have gone through. They are now perceived as being a fantastic school to work in with both staff and pupils being very friendly and welcoming.

Support will be given on a 1:1 basis and within small groups. You will need to engage with students with challenging behaviours being able to remove their barriers to learn and build relationships.

Children who have additional learning needs and can present challenging behaviour. You should be competent giving support pupils to manage their behaviour, emotions and help them develop their social skills. You will be a part of a bigger team so being able to work with the other staff members is also important.

Role

  • Assisting with identifying pupils in need of support.
  • Conducting one-to-one mentoring sessions with identified pupils.
  • Develop strategies for pupils to better manage their behaviour.
  • Drawing up action plans for learners.
  • Keeping track of pupil progress and monitoring behaviour.
  • Organising lunchtime activities for pupils who display challenging behaviour during breaks.

 

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS clearance, registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • EWC registration (or willingness to apply).
  • Ability to provide two recent references.
  • Right to work in the UK, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
  • Safeguarding Level 2 (provided free of charge by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
