If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you to join our team as a Behaviour Mentor at a highly regarded secondary school in Denton.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing targeted support and intervention to students who may require additional assistance with managing their behaviour. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Behaviour Management: Implementing effective behaviour management strategies and techniques to support students in developing positive attitudes, self-discipline, and social skills, both within and outside the classroom.

2. Individualised Support: Providing one-to-one mentoring and support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to identify triggers, develop coping strategies, and make positive choices in their interactions with peers and staff.

3. Conflict Resolution: Assisting students in resolving conflicts and disputes, promoting restorative approaches to conflict resolution and encouraging positive communication and problem-solving skills.

4. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to develop and implement personalised behaviour support plans for students, monitoring progress and adjusting interventions as necessary.

5. Positive Role Modelling: Acting as a positive role model for students, demonstrating empathy, respect, and integrity in all interactions, and fostering a culture of mutual respect and inclusivity within the school community.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with young people, preferably in a school or educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Empathy, patience, and resilience in supporting students facing behavioural challenges, demonstrating a non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques, with the ability to implement and adapt strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school environment, prioritising student well-being and success.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
