Exciting Opportunity: Behaviour Mentor

We are currently seeking a committed Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a reputable secondary school in Bramhall. The school holds an Ofsted rating of 'Good' and is known for its inclusive and supportive ethos.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behavior and providing targeted support to students who may be facing behavioral difficulties. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Behavioural Support: Offering one-to-one or group support to students to help them manage their behavior effectively and make positive choices both inside and outside the classroom.

  2. Implementing Strategies: Working closely with teachers and senior staff to implement behavior management strategies and interventions tailored to the individual needs of students, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across the school.

  3. Mentoring and Guidance: Acting as a mentor and role model for students, providing guidance, encouragement, and practical support to help them develop self-awareness, self-regulation, and positive social skills.

  4. Building Relationships: Developing positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive network and facilitate effective communication in addressing behavioral concerns and implementing support plans.

  5. Monitoring Progress: Regularly assessing and monitoring the progress of students, tracking behavior patterns, and identifying areas for improvement, while celebrating achievements and successes along the way.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies, with the ability to tailor interventions to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students facing behavioral challenges.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the evolving needs of students and the school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
