1:1 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel

£70 - 80 per day

Temporary | Full Time

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work at one of our local Bournemouth schools from September 2022.

The school is a specialist provision for secondary students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) barriers to learning. The school prides itself on maintaining a supportive, caring atmosphere where each child receives individualised, holistic support on a personal level.

About the role:

You will be working mainly in the classroom, supporting students with lessons. This may be on a 1-1 basis, or in small groups. Due to the nature of the school, a calm and patient demeanour is ideally suited to this role. You will encourage pupils to engage in their learning, help their development, and encourage them to build social skills and resilience.

Experience in a classroom is beneficial but not required, as full training will be provided and other relevant experience will be looked at, eg personal experience, youth coaching, social work etc.

Benefits on offer:

We offer a range of benefits to successful candidates. These include our £50 Refer a Friend scheme, payment through PAYE (no umbrella fees), and an online diary allowing you to manage your availability and bookings.

You will also have access to free and discounted CPD courses, and can expect to join a welcoming and friendly school who are keen to support your career development.

If this sounds like the role for you, please click “apply” today and we will be in touch.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. Please see for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
